Clergy Abuse Lawsuit Filed in Kansas against Diocese

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
Another clergy abuse lawsuit went public this month as allegations dating back thirty years brought a man and his former diocese into the spotlight.

According to the lawsuit filed last month in Kansas, a man revealed that he was routinely abused by a former reverend with a diocese in Kansas City. To make matters worse, the victim supposedly informed the diocese about the abuse in 1979, but diocese officials allegedly did nothing about the situation.

As a result, at least five more victims have surfaced with claims of abuse at the hands of the same reverend. Now, both the reverend and the diocese have been named as defendants in the clergy abuse lawsuit, filed by John Doe to protect the identity of the victim.

The lawsuit came as no surprise, however, to neither the diocese nor the abuser, both of which have been named in other lawsuits. At this time, the reverend is not responding to comments and is supposedly is living abroad.
