Suspect Detained for Abusing His Mother

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
Officers were familiar with a man arrested last week since he was taken into custody just one year ago, albeit on different charges.

According to the police, the 44-year-old suspect was charged last January for being in possession of a variety of military weapons. Included in his stash were nunchuks, police batons, pepper spray, tear gas and assault rifles. He was later found guilty on 11 felony counts, which were enhanced due to even older charges.

When officers were called to the scene of the crime last week, however, it was for reported elder abuse. A neighbor called 911 when his mother showed up at the door hurt and claiming that her son had injured her. She returned to the house where he held her captive for three hours, while officers attempted to withdraw him from the property.

In the end, police were forced to use tear gas, which was successful in helping officers capture the suspect. It was later reported by news sources that the mother was removed safely from the home.
