Police Report Elder Abuse Case as Horrific

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
Many people have a hard time putting their loved ones into a nursing home; it is even more horrifying when you learn that a loved one has suffered elder abuse.

A mother and son were brought before a judge at last week on multiple charges of elder abuse. Even the judge was shocked to learn that the negligent actions of the two defendants reportedly led to the death of the woman's mother. The sad case revolves around the victim, who was being taken care of by her grandson, or so she thought.

The 30-year-old grandson was arrested on non-related charges, but police were tipped off to the possible elder abuse occurring at home. What they found when they arrived at the residence to investigate was horrifying and disturbing. The 90-year-old woman had been left unattended, reportedly for weeks, and her body had started to decompose, even though she was still alive. Due to the extent of the neglect, she died shortly after she was transported to a local hospital.

Elder abuse is a serious problem that should never go unaddressed.  If your loved one has been abused, contact the Zalkin Law Firm to enlist the help of an elder abuse lawyer who can help you put an end to the maltreatment immediately.
