Child Loses Life Due To Foster Care Abuse

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
When a child loses its life, it is considering tragic; when it dies as the result of foster care abuse, it is horrific.

This is the scenario that the Hamilton County Coroner's Office revealed last week when it released the autopsy report of Tyionna Barfield, 7 months old. It showed that Barfield experienced abuse just two days before she died. She had been placed at the foster home in North College Hill just two weeks before her death in an emergency situation. The coroner's report told about fresh bruising to the child's skull, face and the side of her head, as well as a broken arm.

The agency that placed the child, Lighthouse Youth Services, were surprised to hear that the child had been abused. They reported that the woman with whom they placed the baby had a solid four-year record with the agency. After Tyionna's death, her two siblings were removed from the home pending an investigation.

If you have been a victim of foster abuse, now is the time to contact our law office to enlist the guidance of a foster care abuse lawyer who can help you.
