Another story of student sex abuse makes headlines this week when a teacher in Round Lake Beach was accused of sexually abusing four children.
According to Lake County authorities, Manuel Reyes, 55, was arrested on six counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. All of the incidents happened while Reyes was teaching at Ellis Elementary School on children under the age of 13. However, police have not commented as to whether the victims were Reyes' students or not.
Reyes was later put on paid leave until the investigation against him has been completed. Once the school district was notified of the charges it immediately sent out letters to the parents explaining the situation.
