Former Member of KC and The Sunshine Band Charged with Sex Abuse

On Monday in Ohio, it was reported that Richard Finch pled no contest to charges of sexual abuse.  Accusations that he sexually abused teenage boys led to Finch being sentenced with seven year in prison by an area judge.

Finch is well-known for being a member of the 1970s disco sensation KC and the Sunshine Band.

Court records revealed that Finch had been accused of engaging in illegal sexual conduct with a minor, seven counts of sexual imposition and three counts of importuning. It was also revealed that there were seven victims, three of which were young teenagers when the sex acts occurred.

Before he was sent, the 56-year-old expressed regret over his actions. He apologized to both the judge and the teenage victims.  Finch said he was behaving under the heavy influence of alcohol and had very little memory of the acts performed with the minors.

He said, "It is my own fault and I will work hard to regain trust and respect from those I let down, including myself."
