Belgian Priest Admits to Clergy Abuse

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
In Brussels, a Belgian priest recently admitted to sex abuse while working as a clergy member.  The priest is a prominent Third World development activist and he admitted that he sexual abused a minor 40 years ago.

Francois Houtart admitted his guilt after the victim's sister came forward when a campaign was launched to nominate the priest for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Right now, Houtart resides in Ecuador and initially he did not respond to phone calls and emails from the press.  However, on Wednesday, he was quoted as saying that he touched "intimate parts" of a boy that was allegedly his cousin.  He said that the entire incident was "inconsiderate and irresponsible."
