A former minister of music of the Benton First Baptist Church, David Pierce, has been arrested and charged with 54 counts of sexual indecency with a child, reports the Benton Courier. The charges stem from incidents that happened over the past three years. The four children involved are now teenagers, and were members of the church's youth choir. It is alleged that Pierce's illegal actions may go back as far as 15 years. Some of the sexual indecency charges are related to crimes that allegedly occurred in the church itself. Pierce's computer was seized and authorities acknowledeged that they contained pornographic material. He is currently out on a $25,000 bond.
