| No TrackBacks

An ex-area Catholic priest has been defrocked by the Vatican reports timesleader.com.  The Luzerne County priest, Reverend Edward J. Shoback had served as a priest in the Diocese of Scranton from 1967 - 2004 when he was removed from pastoral duties when allegations of the sexual misconduct surfaced.

The misconduct allegedly took place more than 25 years ago.  Rev. Shoback admitted to sexual misconduct with a minor in 2004.  During his years as a priest, Rev. Shoback served in many parishes including St. Anne's in Shohola, Pike County, St. Stephens in Plymouth and Holy Rosary in Ashley among other assignments.
