Louisville Archdiocese Removes Priest After Abuse Claim

The Pastor of Saint Ignatius Martyr Parish near Newburg, James Schook, 61, has been removed from his post after allegations of sexual abuse, reports wlky.com.  The priest is accused of sexually abusing a man in the1980's when the man was a teenager.  The alleged abuse took place off Church property. Shook was put on a leave of absence immediately by the Catholic Archdiocense of Louisville, and an investigation has begun regarding the allegations.  The commonwealth attorney's office has also been contacted regarding these serious allegations.  The priest is well-knonw in the community, where he has served as a priest since 1975.
