Twin Cities Priest Accused of Clergy Abuse

| No TrackBacks

The Stillwater Gazette reports that a civil suit has been brought forward alleging that Brother Raimond "Rai" Rose abused a teenaged boy in the 1970's while the boy was at the church's retreat in St. Croix.  The suit asks for damages of an unspecified amount from the priest's order, "The Christian Brothers" as well as the high school the boy attended, Cretin-Derham Hall. The high school, according to the attorney representing the victim, facilitated the abuse by allowing an accused child molester to continue to work with children even after his actions had been reported.

This is the third filing of a civil suit against this particular priest, and each case is very similar.  The claim is that the children were asked to go to a religious retreat.  The victim was then given alcohol, isolated from the others and sexually abused.

The tragedy of clergy abuse and its long-term affects on its victims is a story of horror that continues to offend all of us who care about children.  It is a vile abuse of power and authority in the guise of religion.  If you or a loved one has been a victim of clergy abuse, some closure may come to you with the help of a clergy abuse attorney.  The Zalkin Law Firm has helped many victims of clergy abuse, and understands the humiliation and horror you or your loved one has lived with.  We can help.
