Cantonrep.com reported that the Reverend Thomas Crum of Our Lady of Peace parish has been removed from his duties following a recent credible claim of clergy sexual abuse.
According to the article, the alleged abuse occurred more than 30 years ago and may have been when Crum was a member of the faculty at Youngstown's Cardinal Mooney High School.
It has not been reported whether the complaint came from a male or female.
Crum has not been laicized, but he cannot present himself as a priest in good standing during this period.
Currently, the Diocese of Youngstown is encouraging any person who has suffered clergy abuse to come forward and contact their local law enforcement and the victim's assistance coordinator at the diocese.
