The Oakland Tribune reported that 50-year-old Lorene Rouse has filed a lawsuit against the Diocese of Oakland claiming sexual abuse by a Catholic priest.
Rouse held a press conference yesterday discussing the abuse that she suffered between 1970 and 1972. According to Rouse, she had repressed the memories and recently started having flashbacks and recovering her memory of the sexual abuse that she stated had been inflicted upon her by Reverend Joseph Ferreira.
Ferreira had another sexual abuse suit filed against him three years ago.
