New Jersey Clergy Abuse Suit Filed Against Priest

| No TrackBacks

A Clergy abuse suit has been filed against a former pastor of St. Veronica's Church in Powell reports APP.com.  The suit claims that Roman Catholic Pastor Rev. Richard Milewski sexually abused two young parishioners of St. Veronica's Catholic Church who were boys at the time, both attending parochial school.  The incidents occurred approximately 25 years ago.  It is claimed by one of the plaintiffs that Rev. Milewski made a group of boys who were on a Church trip to a spa resort in New Jersey strip naked before getting into a steam room and then whirlpool tub together.

The second plaintiff in the lawsuit claims that during a Church trip to the Poconos, Rev. Milewski pulled his pants down while he was swimming in the pool and squeezed his genitals until he couldn't move due to the pain.

A Church spokesperson for the Diocese of Trenton reportedly said that they had not previously heard of any complaints against Rev. Melewski but that they would conduct their own investigation and have notified law enforcement of the charges.  Rev Melewski has been put on leave.  His most recent appointment was at St. Rose of Lima in Freehold.
