Nephew of Late Cardinal O'Connor to File Clergy Abuse Suit

| No TrackBacks

Nydailynews.com reported yesterday that the nephew of the late Cardinal John Joseph O'Connor will be filing a civil suit claiming that he was sexually abused by a Catholic priest.

31-year-old Rich Green is accusing the deceased Reverend John McDevitt of clergy abuse that Green says occurred during his early teen years at a Warminster, PA high school.

Green says he was sexually abused around twice a week for about six months.  According to Green, the abuse occurred in the classroom.

McDevitt was accused of sexual abuse in the 1980s while he was teaching at the Salesianum School in Wilmington, DE.

The civil suit names the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington and the Oblates of St. Francies de Sales.

If you or someone you know has been sexually abused by a member of the Catholic clergy, please do not hesitate to contact an experienced clergy abuse attorney at the Zalkin Law Firm. With the help of a lawyer, you could be able to recover compensation for the suffering you have endured at the hands of a Catholic priest.  Priest abuse is highly illegal and can wreak havoc on the survivor's life and that of his or her family.
