Pennsylvania Woman Files Clergy Abuse Suit in Delaware

| No TrackBacks

Delawareonline.com reported that a Pennsylvania woman filed suit against the Catholic Diocese of Allentown today.  According to the lawsuit, Sharon Tell suffered sexual abuse at the hands of a priest starting in1964 and carrying on through until she was an adult and ending in 1984.

The lawsuit states that Tell was sexually abused and intimidated by the deceased Reverend James J. McHale in Notre Dame of Bethlehem, PA beginning when she was 12 years old.  The abuse continued after her family moved to Smyrna, DE.  The suit states that McHale visited Tell's home often and abused her there.

This case was filed under Delaware's Child Victim's Act of 2007 which allows childhood sexual abuse and clergy abuse victims to file lawsuits despite the fact that the statute of limitations has passed.

If you have been sexually abused by a member of the Catholic clergy, please contact an experienced clergy abuse lawyer at the Zalkin Law Firm.  We may be able to help you get the justice you deserve if you have survived childhood sexual abuse.
