Supreme Court Denies Motion to Dismiss Case Against Diocese

| No TrackBacks

A recent story run by a central New York news channel reported that the New York State Supreme Court has denied a recent motion filed by the diocese requesting the dismissal of a clergy abuse lawsuit.

Jason Hartley, formerly of Watkins Glen, states that Father David Bonin sexually abused him starting in 1998 when Hartley was 10 years old.  Bonin was a priest at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Watkins Glen at the time. Though Bonin is deceased, Hartley and his attorney claim that the Rochester Diocese was aware of the sexual abuse and did nothing to stop it.

If you or a loved one has been abused by a Catholic priest, please contact an experienced New York clergy abuse attorney at the Zalkin Law Firm.  It is important that you are aware of your legal rights and that you receive the justice you deserve after surviving priest abuse.
