A report by the Associated Press stated that the Fransiscan Roman Catholic religious order have moved forward with an appeal following a California court's mandate to release previously private personnel documents as part of a settlement of almost three years ago regarding clergy abuse.
This requirement to release the private personnel documents came earlier this month as part of a $28 million settlement with 25 survivors of priest abuse in California.
These documents, if released, could show that the Fransiscan order was aware of the abuse or they could show how allegations were handled.
