Ex-Priest in Texas Pleads Guilty on Child Pornography Charges

| No TrackBacks

As reported by the Ft. Worth Star Telegram, former Catholic priest Matthew Bagert pled guilty to one count of child pornography possession in a Dallas federal court.  As a result of this, Bagert could spend up to 10 years in a state prison and he must register as a sex offender.  He may also be charged up to $250,000 in fines.

This case began back in 2005 when an associate priest reported Reverend Bagert looking at pictures of a naked boy on the computer in the rectory of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grand Prairie, Texas.  Bagert reportedly admitted to searching for the child pornography images on the internet.
